This election cycle, there are four of seven seats available on the Orange County Board of Commissioners: two seats from District 1, one seat from District 2 and one at-large seat. The race saw two challengers file to challenge incumbents, creating two contested races. All of the candidates are Democrats, so the race will be decided in the primary.

Schools get a significant share of taxpayers’ money. Where is it going??? Obviously, they spend it but are not accountable. How about itemizing costs and where the money is spent. We do it for our own taxes. But it is still a major campaign issue.
No one addresses those of us who are retired and on fixed incomes. Our cost of living doesn’t increase; yet, our taxes do. I’d like to hear what the BOCC is doing to help us. Seems no one who is a civil servant of the people cares about this population demographic. Older people and fixed incomes seem to be an issue that gets swept under the rug in every election. We vote.
