Senior safety Donnie Miles was selected to play in the 2018 SPIRAL Tropical Bowl, the UNC football team announced Thursday on Twitter.

The event is a Division I College All-Star Game played in Daytona Beach, Florida which serves mainly as a proving ground for the top seniors in the country in front of NFL scouts and general managers.

Since the Tropical Bowl’s inception in 2016, over 100 alumni have gone on to play in the NFL.

Miles–who is from Florida–started 39 games in the UNC secondary during his career.

A broken forearm suffered against Notre Dame limited Miles to just six games and 37 tackles during the Tar Heels’s disappointing 2017 campaign.

He tallied at least 100 tackles in each of the prior two seasons, however, including a team-high 128 in 2015–the year UNC tied a program record with 11 wins.
