I think I know why Eric Trump posted that doctored UNC video.

Two anecdotes why the renegade Trump family would post that edited video of Roy Williams and the Tar Heels after the 2017 NCAA championship win, and neither has to do with plain stupidity.

Supposedly, before the 2016 election, Trump’s team abruptly walked out of the traditional orientation and tour of the White House, saying something like, “We don’t care how anything has been done in the past. We’re going to do it our way and see if anyone cares.”

So, that speaks to intent.

You may remember that Ol’ Roy answered a question about social media at the 2017 ACC tournament in Brooklyn by quipping, “Our President tweets out more bulls**t than anyone.” Donald Trump never forgets any affront and always holds a grudge.

Three weeks later, when the Tar Heels won the national championship, Trump was probably rooting against them since he is a Duke and Coach K fan after attending a couple of games at Cameron.

He also had to know that President Obama was a Carolina fan, scrimmaging with the Tar Heels during his campaign and twice picking UNC to win it all in his nationally televised brackets.

Trump already had a gripe with Obama, who zinged him at his annual Correspondence Dinners in Washington, D.C., which is a roast and toast by every president before Trump turned down the invitation for the last three years because Agent Orange has never told a real joke in his life.

So, of course, Eric Trump, the youngest of the two bird-brain sons of the president, thought it was funny to photo-shop his old man over Roy’s body and his and Don Jr’s mugs over players.

Remember the White House orientation proclamation.

Well, Tar Heel Nation crowed about this one, the athletic department put out a strong statement of condemnation and Twitter deleted the dumb meme. Should we say the reason is fake news?

Or maybe no one in the White House knows what a real sense of humor is anyway.
