Still not much current to report on the sports front, so here are some general thoughts and comments.

It helps to start your day with a sense of order and purpose. So I make the bed and put everything back where it’s supposed to be.

I used to never bank at the drive-up window, but now that it’s our only choice without making an appointment to go inside, it’s kind of cool. I think this crisis will convert a lot of banking customers.

Went to Sunrise Biscuit Kitchen yesterday to pick up their signature cinnamon rolls, and the car in front of me got the last one. I settled for blueberry muffins, and they are almost as good.

The Chick-fil-A tent outside of University Place on the South Estes side is a nice takeout touch by the owners, and a bunch of cars are usually pulled up there between Noon and 2 every day.

Did you see where they are taking down the basketball rims in playgrounds all over New York City to keep kids from hanging out during the shelter-in-place policy instituted by Mayor Bill de Blasio?

I need a book on tape and a good cable TV series to keep my mind off the pandemic. So, I’m listening to one I cheer, “The Guardians” by part-time Chapel Hill resident John Grisham, and re-watching one that is dark, dangerous and delicious — “Ozark” on Netflix.

Finley Golf Course is open after being closed since the university shut down. Not many people out there, but I know the beautiful track is open because the flagsticks are back in the holes on the greens. And isn’t golf really a perfect past time for social distancing?

Regarding the Game of Kings, apparently Tiger and Phil are contemplating another prime-time match so sports fans will have something live to watch besides ultimate fighting, which should be sheltered in place permanently for its brutality.

And, finally, try to support whatever eateries and essential service stores that are staying open, most with curbside or delivery service. And when you pay, add a few extra dollars on for the tip, since those workers can use the ca-ching in their pockets.
