Welcome to Woman Crush Wednesday!

This week, join 97.9 The Hill’s Ali Evans for a conversation with Lizzie Jacobs and Cordon McGee, the creators of Goodness Cooks, a local culinary outfit seeking to use fresh, local and organic ingredients  to produce food that is as simple as it is nourishing.

“We both had very different paths leading into becoming holistic chefs and starting Goodness Cooks. Very different paths, but also similar,” said McGee. “We were both focused on wellness and nutrition in cooking, and we both became home chefs, personal chefs. We did that for a while, and then realized that we just wanted to bring that to more people. We knew that we worked well together, and we loved each other, and decided to kind of join forces and bring it to the larger community.”

Working to create “nutrient-dense” food as responsibly, ethically and efficiently as possible, McGee and Jacobs’ culinary creations at Goodness Cooks come from a place of personal experience and hope.

“We also both came from a place of needing and wanting to shift some of our eating habits to help with some health issues that we were both up against,” said Jacobs. “We saw the effect of that change within our own bodies, and feel passionate that we want to assist and help other people don’t just provide nutritious, healthy food for families.”

The food provided by Goodness Cooks isn’t based on a subscription model, customers can order as much or as little as they’d like. New menus are released every Thursday — so take a break from cooking next week and give Goodness Cooks a try. There’s even a special WCW promo code: “spring15”!

Listen below for the full conversation between Ali, Lizzie and Cordon below, and tune in next Wednesday for the next WCW introduction to another amazing woman in our community!
