Maize Craze at Cane Creek Farm
Thursday, October 23; Friday, October 24; Saturday, October 25; Sunday, October 26, all day

Starting this Friday and continuing through October, Cane Creek Farm will host its first annual Maize Craze. Explore a maze in the shape of a celtic cross carved into an 11-acre corn field. Two Brains: Why Democracy Fails
Thursday, October 23 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

This Thursday, Carolina Public Humanities continues their Two Brains series. The topic this week will be Why Democracy Fails: A Tale of Two Napoleons. Historians Lloyd Kramer and Max Owre will be focussing on the years preceding the First and Second French Empires and how they paved the way for Napoleon I and Napoleon III. An Evening with Nnenna Freelon: Conversation and Book Launch
Thursday, October 23 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Nnenna Freelon, Durham’s beloved jazz vocalist, will be at the Nasher Museum this weekend for the launch of her new memoir, Beneath the Skin of Sorrow: Improvisations on Loss. Cary Cross Trailers Square Dance – Fun Nights October 23 & November 20, 2025

If you’ve wanted to try out square dancing, now’s your chance. Cary Cross Trailers Square Dance Club of NC will be at Cary First United Methodist Church teaching calls like Grand Square, Do-Si-Do, and Swing Your Partner. No experience or partner is needed. For more information, click here.

Community Farm at Chestnut Ridge Glow in the Dark Pumpkin Patch

3rd Annual Chelsea Theater Halloween Horror
Friday, October 24 7:00 p.m. – Saturday, October 25 1:00 a.m.

Chelsea Theater is having their 3rd annual Halloween Horror night this Friday. There will be live music, trivia, a costume contest, and of course, films. The films shown will be Pulse, Haxan, and Frankenstein. For more information, click here.

Chapel Hill Farmers’ Market
Saturday, October 25 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

This Saturday morning, shop at the Chapel Hill Farmers’ Market. Shop from local vendors and score delicious produce. Chapel Hill Farmers’ Market will be operating in their summer hours until November 1 and this week at the market, celebrate Halloween by bringing your pup in costume and you can win a prize in their costume contest. Youth Mental Health First Aid
Saturday, October 25 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

This Saturday, Orange Partnership for Alcohol and Drug Free Youth are having a Youth Mental Health First Aid workshop. The workshop will teach any adults who primarily interact with young people how to offer initial support and how to guide teenagers to appropriate care if necessary. Sculptures in the Garden
Saturday, October 25 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

There will be a free exhibit of Zimbabwe sculptures along an easy path at Carolina Meadows. Walk the path and view the art. There will be staff present from 12-4 on the weekend. Click here for more information.

UNC Football vs. Virginia on 97.9 The Hill

The Tar Heels look to bounce back after a tough loss to California this Saturday against Virginia. Our coverage will start at 9:00 with Inside Carolina Live. Listen to the Tar Heel Sports Network Pre-Game Show at 11:00 and stick around as we’ll have all the action for you as the game kicks off at 12:00. This weekend, the Sancar Turkish Cultural and Community Center is celebrating the 102nd anniversary of the Turkish Republic. Republic Day marks the proclamation of the Republic of Türkiye by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in 1923, a historic moment that established a modern democratic nation.
