Start the weekend fun early with the West End Poetry Festival. Hang out around Carrboro all weekend to hear excellent poetry, speak to poets, and share your own poetry. It’s a perfect opportunity to celebrate poetry in all its forms. Click here for the schedule.

If you’re ready for Halloween, you can start the festivities as early as this weekend! Come out to Spring Haven Farm and carve a pumpkin with goats! The farm has been transformed into a true Halloween fantasyland to get you in the spirit. As well as carving pumpkins, you can take a tractor ride, roast s’mores, and attempt to find gems in the mining sluice. Spring Haven Farm will be offering the pumpkin carving from now until October 31st so you’ll have plenty of time. For more information on the pumpkin carving, click here.

Friday, October 20 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Pittsboro Gallery of Arts is holding their annual Art Bal Masque. Wear a mask and mingle their artists while you enjoy refreshments and view the amazing art on display. For more information, click here.

Come out to the Garden Spot Friday and Saturday from 5-8. Every night of the pop-up, you can enjoy some North Carolina beers from Wye Hill Brewing, delicious food from different vendors, and more! Towns on Tour will be having their kickoff party this Saturday. Their aim is to support artists and musicians on tour. The kickoff party is at The Fruit in Durham and will be a fundraiser to bring awareness to their work and the community they aim to support. Playmakers Repertory Company’s new show has started! Come out this weekend to check out the play Misery, written by William Goldman based on the Stephen King novel. The thriller follows the story of romance author Paul Sheldon who is rescued and then held captive by his number one fan. It’s the perfect way to get into the Halloween spirit early. The Chapel Hill-Carrboro NAACP Youth Council will be holding a National Week Of Action Youth Empowerment Day at Northside Elementary. The themes the Empowerment Day will be focusing on are Educate, Liberate, and Elevate. It will be filled with networking, fun, discussions, and workshops. This Saturday, the Eno Arts Mill will be holding their Bad Art Market. The arts market will feature work from artists of varying experience level for you to buy. The Tar Heels are back in action this weekend looking for their 7th win of the season against Virginia. Our coverage starts with Inside Carolina Live at 3:30 and continues with Tar Heel Sports Network Pregame Show starting at 5:30. Kickoff is at 6:30 and we’ll have all the action for you on 97.9 The Hill. Coverage will end with Tar Heel Sports Network Post-Game show directly after the game ends. Please note that due to NCAA restrictions, the 75 mile rule applies for the Tar Heel Sports Network Shows and the game.
