Welcome to Talking Culture! In this weekly interview series from 97.9 The Hill WCHL, you’ll hear from writers, performers, musicians and individuals involved in advancing and promoting cultural arts in our community.

This week, Aaron previews the Shakori Hills Fall Festival of Music & Dance, which opens Thursday, October 2, and runs through Sunday, October 5, with arts vendors, food, dancing, and dozens of bands and artists on multiple stages on the grounds in Chatham County.

Visit ShakoriHillsGrassroots.org for tickets and more information.

Aaron previews the festival by playing music from three local bands: an instrumental by string duo Allison de Groot and Tatiana Hargreaves; world music from Diali Cissokho; and a punk-inflected Irish folk song by the Tan & Sober Gentlemen.
