Hosted by Sleepy Cat Records at Hillsborough’s Down Yonder Farm, the second annual Sleepy Fest will feature performances by Dante High, Kamara Thomas, Chessa Rich, Nightblooms, Joseph DeCosimo, and numerous other artists on the Sleepy Cat label. On top of their individual performances, the musicians will also join each other on stage throughout the day for all-star collaborations.

Sam Logan of Nightblooms recently joined Aaron Keck on 97.9 The Hill to preview Sleepy Fest. Click here to listen.

The festival also features an arts and makers market, food trucks and beverage vendors, and a kids’ zone with nature activities.

Kamara Thomas recently joined Aaron Keck on 97.9 The Hill to preview Sleepy Fest and discuss her album “Tularosa: An American Dreamtime.” Click here to listen.

Sleepy Fest is the brainchild of T. Gold’s Gabriel Anderson and Saman Khoujinian, who co-founded Sleepy Cat Records in 2019 “to nurture and grow our creative community” in the Triangle. Sleepy Cat has had a banner year in 2023, releasing acclaimed albums from Magic Al, Chessa Rich, Libby Rodenbough, Joseph Terrell, and bluegrass legend Alice Gerrard – to name only a few.

It all gets under way at noon and runs until 10 p.m. Tickets are available now – and organizers are also looking for volunteers to help staff the festival as well.
