Last year, once of the most resonating images of Hurricane Florence in North Carolina was the gradual destruction of the American flag flying high on “Frying Pan Tower” off the Outer Banks close to Cape Fear.

This year, as Hurricane Dorian approaches the North Carolina coastline while moving up the Eastern seaboard, the cameras at Frying Pan Tower are once again broadcasting the approach of a massive storm.

Viewers interested in the live feed of the hurricane’s approach can see the camera’s footage below, courtesy of EXPORE.org.

With its current status as a Category 2, Hurricane Dorian’s winds are currently measured as high as a sustained 110 miles per hour. Whipping in those high winds is the flag flying on top of Frying Pan Tower, which is intact — for now.
