Fresh off the release of their new album “Gamllagus,” and with an upcoming album-release show at the Cave, the band Gallus Mag joined Aaron this week on Live & Local.

Named for a notorious 19th-century New York female bouncer, Gallus Mag is comprised of Matt DeBellis, Joel Floyd, Will Kitchin, and Joseph Silvers – all of whom originally met over Craigslist. “Gamllagus” (pronunciation unknown) showcases their signature sound, a fusion of shoegaze, noise, and jazz with several other influences mixed in.

The band is celebrating with an album-release show at the Cave in Chapel Hill, Saturday, May 27, starting at 8:00 p.m. with Bonies opening.

Matt, Will, and Joseph stopped by 97.9 The Hill studios this week during Live & Local to chat about the album and play two tracks: “Hardee Boys” and “Banana Homicide.”
