Jeanie Arnel, the former Executive Director of the Meals on Wheels program for the Chapel Hill-Carrboro community, is Friday’s Hometown Hero.

Jeanie was in charge of the Meals on Wheels program for decades.  Stacy Yusko now heads up the the program and it was Stacy who told us why Jeanie Arnel is deserving of special recognition.

“Jeanie devoted almost 30 years of her life to Meals on Wheels, ” Jeanie says.  “But, beyond the length of service, it was the depths of compassion.”

Meals on Wheels in Chapel Hill-Carrboro is celebrating its 40th birthday this year.  Ron Stutts says Jeanie is, “quite a legendary figure in our community.
