This week’s Hometown Hero, presented by Hendrick Southpoint, is Daniel Toben!
Daniel is on a mission to clean up Orange County and North Carolina.
“I clean up plastic pollution and refuse and tires from many places in the county,” Daniel said. “You wouldn’t expect it, but we actually have plenty of work to do in our area.
“I have been doing this for about 10 years now and I have cleaned up from this county alone, probably about 3,000 trash bags of litter and about 2,000 tires.”
Daniel works two full-time jobs in addition to his passion of cleaning up Orange County. He said his dream is to turn his hobby into a full-time job.
“It’s kind of a dream of mine that I would be able to take this onto something bigger,” he said.
