Hillsborough Police are seeking volunteers to help with distributing candy and officiating games during Trunk-or-Treat in advance of Halloween on October 27.

This event, which was created by Hillsborough Police last year, aims to provide a safe alternative to trick-or-treating on dark streets and to also increase positive interactions between officers and youth.

“This year, we are hoping to partner with businesses, members of the community and other first responders to make this event even more spectacular,” Officer Candace Spragins said in a release.

Trunk-or-Treat will take place on Saturday, October 27 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Fairview Park and will be open to children of all ages and pets.
