Meet Applejack.  His friends call him AJ.

AJ is available for adoption through Independent Animal Rescue.  He is 1-2 years old.  AJ is about 60 pounds, athletic, and quite calm.  He is a pit bull terrier mix.  Read the description via the Independent Animal Rescue:

“AJ is a happy-go-lucky sweet dog. He plays very well with dogs of all sizes and LOVES people. AJ is so much fun to play with! He is quite the cuddler. Whatever else is going on, all activity on his part ceases when cuddling begins. He is relaxed and has good manners indoors. He is smart and pays attention to commands. He wants to please and is quickly picking up on voice and hand commands. We are working on leash walking since he has never been on a leash that we know of. AJ has all the makings of a fabulous pet!”

From their website animalrescue.net:

Our mission is to rescue and provide safe and responsible care for homeless, abandoned, and abused animals. We shall strive to help all animals in need through our service programs. We will serve our communities through promotion of spay or neuter for all companion animals, and the education of children and adults in the humane care, respect and responsibility for animals on this earth.
