The Eno River Association has canceled the 2020 iteration of the Festival for the Eno, an annual tradition since 1980. In the place of the popular event, however, a new celebration named “OneEno” has been announced.

OneEno will be a live broadcast originating from the Carolina Theatre in downtown Durham on Friday, July 3. The event will feature “live and recorded music performances, a virtual crafts market, information about local foodways, profiles of local artists and venues, live music, environmental education, and of course, the Eno River” – according to the announcement.

“The mission of the Eno River Association is to promote and protect the nature, culture and history of the Eno River Basin, and the Festival for the Eno is our largest outreach effort each year,” says Jessica Sheffield, executive director of the ERA, in a press release. “We look forward to continuing the great tradition of the Festival for the Eno, albeit in a new way for 2020.”

Currently, the list of performers for OneEno includes the Hamiltones, Sarah Shook & the Disarmers, Indigo de Souza, Jon Shain & Mark Simonsen (Flying Mice), Sonny Miles, and Dwight Haskins with specials guests Violet Bell, John Dee Holeman, the Chatham Rabbits and more.
