A month and a half from the 2026 midterm, Tom’s seeing signs of a major Democratic wave election. Why? Gas prices, he says: they’ve been consistently high, it’s easy to connect that back to Donald Trump’s actions as president, and that’s shaking even some of the folks who’ve been Trump’s most unwavering supporters in the past. (Will it be enough to give Democrats control of the North Carolina State House? Not definitely – but maybe.)
