Kate Faasse scored a pair of second-half goals to help Carolina cruise past visiting Alabama 4-0 at Dorrance Field Thursday night.

Faasse’s two goals came in addition to an assist on UNC’s first goal of the night, a close-range shot from Olivia Thomas off a break from the Tar Heel attack. Faasse doubled the lead less than two minutes into the second half, then effectively sealed the game with her second goal in the 77th minute. Freshman Bella Devey continued a hot start to her freshman season by scoring Carolina’s fourth goal in the 84th minute. It was Devey’s third straight match with a goal.

Tar Heel goalkeeper Abby Gundry made a pair of saves in the second half to keep the Crimson Tide, which came into Thursday’s match unbeaten on the season, off the scoresheet. Carolina has allowed just one total goal over the course of its four-match winning streak. All four matches have come at Dorrance Field.

UNC is now 5-2 on the season. The Tar Heels will return to the road and visit James Madison Sunday at 1 p.m. Carolina is still seeking its first win away from home in 2025.
