UNC is one of 12 teams participating in the Pullman regional, which is one of six such regions across the country. Each region’s top five teams after three rounds of stroke play will advance to the NCAA Championship in Arizona, which lasts six days and features both stroke play and match play elements. The Tar Heels are looking to improve upon their finish in last year’s event, when the team qualified for a regional but placed seventh and did not advance.
The 2022-23 season saw the Tar Heels finish in the top 4 of four tournaments and win the Ivy Intercollegiate in October.
Play in the Pullman regional at Palouse Ridge Golf Club will begin on May 8. Notable other programs joining the Tar Heels in the regional are defending national champions Stanford (the region’s top seed), Houston, Kentucky, UNLV, USC and Baylor.
