A matchup between two of the nation’s top 10 wrestling teams on Sunday at Carmichael Arena saw the No. 5 Arizona State Sun Devils cruise to a 22-9 victory over No. 8 UNC.

The Tar Heels won three of the first four matches of the dual courtesy of Jaime Hernandez (133 pounds), Zach Sherman (141) and Austin O’Connor (149), but the Sun Devils responded by taking each of the final six bouts to seal the victory.

Still, though, UNC ends the regular season with a record of 14-3. The 14 wins are the program’s most since 2002, while the .823 winning percentage is the team’s best since 1997.
