The No. 2 ranked UNC women’s tennis team opened the 2020 season on Saturday afternoon in Chapel Hill with a pair of 7-0 shutout victories over Elon and Charleston Southern.

With the victories, the Tar Heels have now won 22 consecutive matches at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center.

Both matches also saw UNC not only win the doubles point at the beginning, but then sweep all six singles matches in straight sets. It was the type of dominant performance expected from a team that should be in the national title hunt all year long.
