UNC graduate transfer Fillipo Zattarin was selected Monday as the ACC Men’s Soccer Co-Defensive Player of the Week after his goal with one second remaining last Friday night lifted the Tar Heels to a 1-0 upset win over the No. 3 Clemson Tigers.
Zattarin–who is in his first season at UNC after transferring from Saint Mary’s–also helped the Tar Heel defense limit Clemson to a paltry two shots on goal for the entirety of the match.
This represents the first ACC weekly honor of Zattarin’s career, after having played just two games in the league to this point.
UNC is scheduled to return to action on Sunday against Wake Forest in Winston-Salem.
