The ACC announced Tuesday that UNC senior goalkeeper is the recipient of the ACC Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week award after her performance in the Tar Heels’ win over Virginia this past Sunday.

Hendry tallied seven saves in the 5-1 victory, which was the second-highest total of her stellar career. Through five games this season, she has allowed just five goals.

In the Tar Heels’ next game–which is set for Friday against Syracuse–Hendry will face off with ACC Offensive Player of the Week Florine van Boetzelaer, a midfielder who scored twice in her last outing.

UNC is 4-1 to begin the 2020 season, having had its 47-game winning streak snapped by Louisville in just the second game of the year.
