With a throw of 67.67 meters on Thursday in Raleigh on Day One of the ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, UNC senior Jill Shippee claimed first place in the hammer throw event.

Shippee was the only Tar Heel to win their event on Thursday. This also marks her second ACC title in the hammer throw, having won it back in 2019 as well.

Anna Keefer placed third in the women’s long jump and joined with Shippee to help lift the team score into second place.

On the men’s side, UNC currently ranks fourth — led by third-place finishes by James Joycey (hammer throw) and Patrick Anderson (10k run).
