Fresh off an upset loss to Boston College in the ACC Quarterfinals, the UNC men’s soccer team received recognition for the season that helped earn it the top seed in the league tournament.

UNC led the conference by placing seven players on the All-ACC teams, when including the All-Freshman team.

Midfielder Cam Lindley–who just happens to be a freshman–was the only Tar Heel named to the league’s First Team.

Lindley was also honored as the league’s Freshman of the Year for his efforts–which included six assists, solid all-around play in the midfield and starting all 17 games.

The first Tar Heel to win ACC Freshman of the Year since Danny Garcia in 2012, Lindley has also been one of the key cogs in an offense that led the ACC with 1.94 goals per game.

Junior forwards Alan Winn and Zach Wright–along with senior defender Colton Storm–were each named to the All-ACC Second Team.

On the All-ACC Third Team was sophomore goalie James Pyle and senior defender Walker Hume.

Rounding out the UNC selections was first-year midfielder Mauricio Pineda–who earned a spot alongside Lindley on the All-Freshman team.

The Tar Heels–currently holding a record of 11-3-3–will find out their NCAA Tournament seeding on Monday, Nov. 14.
