In his first audition for pro teams since finishing his career at UNC, tailback TJ Logan put on quite a show Friday at the 2017 NFL Draft Combine–running a 4.37 second 40-yard dash, the fastest among all running backs invited to Indianapolis for the event.

The next closest to Logan was a 4.41 run by Joe Williams out of Utah, with North Carolina A&T’s Tarik Cohen (4.42) coming in third.

Elijah Hood–Logan’s teammate at UNC, who is also at the combine–did not participate.

Although the 40-yard dash obviously doesn’t always translate to success at the next level, it’s often considered the highlight of the scouting combine.

Adidas even guaranteed an island–or a million dollars–to any player who could break the record of 4.24 seconds held by former ECU star Chris Johnson, while also wearing a pair of its new signature cleats.

Throughout his career at UNC, Logan ran for 2,165 yards and 19 touchdowns while also catching 76 passes for 663 yards and an additional four scores.

He also has the school record with four kickoff return touchdowns.

Logan’s performance on Friday will likely send him rising up draft boards, as breakaway speed is an extremely rare and valuable commodity in the NFL.

Teams should also factor in the Greensboro native’s ability to return kicks and catch passes out of the backfield when deciding how to evaluate the true meaning of his standout performance in the 40-yard dash.

CBS Sports currently lists Logan as its No. 225 overall prospect, and gives him a sixth to seventh round projection.
