UNC has agreed to participate in next season’s Las Vegas Invitational men’s basketball tournament in mid-November, the university announced Thursday.

The event will be held at the 9,500 seat Orleans Arena on Nov. 22 and Nov. 23, 2018 and will also include powerhouse programs Michigan State, UCLA and Texas alongside the Tar Heels.

A possibility exists that UNC and Michigan State could meet in a Thanksgiving tournament for the second year in a row after the Spartans defeated the Tar Heels in the finals of last season’s PK80 Tournament in Portland.

It will also be UNC’s first trip to Las Vegas since falling to Kentucky 103-100 back in December of 2016.
