Playing in the inaugural U.S. Soccer Spring College Program, the UNC men’s soccer team moved to 3-0 so far with a 2-1 victory on Saturday over the Virginia Cavaliers.

The game was played at Finley Soccer Fields in Chapel Hill, and saw Virginia take an early 1-0 lead in the opening minutes.

It was a different story in the second half, however, as the Tar Heels tied things up when Virginia picked up an own goal off of a deflection. Then Mauricio Pineda responded shortly after with his third goal of the spring season–giving UNC the lead, and ultimately the victory.

In three games so far this spring, the Tar Heels have outscored their opponents 10-2.
