For the first time in 2020, UNC lit the Bell Tower blue after a victory on the football field.

UNC lights up the Bell Tower on campus after each football win in a tradition started by head coach Mack Brown last year. It was something Brown learned during his time at Texas and reintroduced after arriving in Chapel Hill in 2019.

In Brown’s first year back as head coach, Carolina won seven games on its 13-game schedule — including the Military Bowl in the postseason. This year, the Tar Heels will play an 11-game schedule due to the coronavirus pandemic, but have a chance to make the ACC Championship and potentially play in a postseason bowl game or the College Football Playoffs.

All in all, there’s over a dozen opportunities to light the Bell Tower blue. The first one is down.
