The last time UNC was on national television, the Tar Heels suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of a struggling Florida State program.

On Friday, Mack Brown and Carolina will look to rewrite the story when No. 2 Notre Dame comes to Chapel Hill.

The Tar Heels are coming off back-to-back games in which they scored more than 50 points. However, offense will be hard to come by against a Notre Dame defense that ranks 11th in the country in yards per game allowed (304.1).

If the toughest matchup on the field is UNC’s offense vs. Notre Dame’s defense, then the Tar Heels need a strong defensive effort in order to hold an edge in this game. Quarterback Ian Book has been efficient for the Fighting Irish this season (11 touchdowns, one interception), but the strength of their offense lies in in the rushing attack with Kyren Williams (777 yards, 10 touchdowns).

Notre Dame is a 7.5 favorite over UNC at the time of publishing.
