The UNC football coaching carousel got back to work on Tuesday afternoon, as head coach Mack Brown added three new assistants–including Phil Longo as the new offensive coordinator.

Longo joins Lonnie Galloway and Brandon Jones on Brown’s staff, with each of the men set to do work on the offensive side of the ball.

Over the last two seasons at Ole Miss, Longo’s offenses have ranked in the top 20 nationally each year, including ninth place in 2018 with an average of 510.5 yards per game.

In addition to his duties as offensive coordinator, he will also coach the Tar Heel quarterbacks.

Galloway, meanwhile, will take over as the UNC wide receivers coach after spending the last four years as the co-offensive coordinator at Louisville–where he helped develop former Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Lamar Jackson.

Jones becomes the new Tar Heel offensive line coach after two years in the same role at Texas Tech, his alma mater.
