The ACC announced Monday that UNC freshman closer Josh Hiatt was named its Pitcher of the Week for his outstanding performances over the weekend against then No. 3 Clemson.

Hiatt earned the honor after pitching in all three games against the Tigers–picking up a win and a save during the series.

He threw 5.2 scoreless innings of relief without giving up a single run–retiring 17 of the 21 batters he faced.

Hiatt currently has a 1.18 ERA this season, while leading the team with 13 saves.

The Tar Heels will return to action Tuesday at Boshamer Stadium when they host Richmond at 6 p.m.
