The UNC women’s soccer team added to its prolific history on Monday night with an NCAA championship win over Wake Forest, 1-0, in the College Cup. Afterward, the Tar Heel community took to social media to celebrate and offer their congratulations.

The victory, earned off sophomore Olivia Thomas’ set piece goal in the 62nd minute, marked the 23rd national title won by Carolina women’s soccer and its first since 2012 — the longest drought between titles since the NCAA College Cup was created.

After the game, a mix of other Carolina athletics programs, former players, alumni, state leaders and Tar Heel fans hopped online to share their thoughts about the win — and the program’s return to the pinnacle of the college sport. Here are some of the highlights:
