The North Carolina Tar Heels baseball team will be looking to get back on the right track this weekend when the Virginia Tech Hokies visit Chapel Hill.
After starting the season 18-2, UNC is just 3-6 over its last nine contests, including losing two out of three to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and being swept when visiting the Miami Hurricanes. But the biggest shock in the stretch of rough play came on Wednesday night when the Tar Heels lost to UNC – Asheville 3-2 to move the Bulldogs to 8-22 on the season.
The No. 13 Tar Heels will be wrapping up a five-game homestand when welcoming the Hokies. Virginia Tech is just 10-20 on the season and 1-11 in Atlantic Coast Conference play.
North Carolina is 28-2 against Virginia Tech under head coach Mike Fox.
The normal weekend starters are scheduled to take the mound for the Tar Heels with Zac Gallen on Friday, J.B. Bukauskas on Saturday and Jason Morgan on Sunday.
