The impact of junior transfer Chris Gray is already being felt in a big way for the ninth-ranked UNC men’s lacrosse team on Saturday, as the former Boston University star scored a whopping eight goals to lead the Tar Heels to a 17-10 road victory at No. 15 Johns Hopkins.
It was a career-high in goals for Gray, who also added an assist to finish the day with nine points. The Tar Heels (4-0) also received three goals from Tanner Cook and two from Justin Anderson on the way to scoring the most goals the program has ever scored against Johns Hopkins.
UNC led 9-5 by halftime and spent the second half continuing to build on that lead in what easily the team’s most impressive performance of the season.
With the loss, Johns Hopkins fell to 1-2 early in the 2020 campaign.
