A pair of Tar Heels were recognized Monday by the ACC for their efforts in UNC’s 56-45 win over then-No. 19 Virginia Tech.

Senior Michael Carter was named the league’s Running Back of the Week, while junior center Brian Anderson was crowned the Offensive Lineman of the Week.

Carter ran for a career-high 214 rushing yards and touchdowns on just 17 carries against the Hokies, becoming the first Tar Heel to eclipse the 200-yard mark since Elijah Hood in 2015.

Anderson, meanwhile, helped pave the way for Carter and Javonte Williams–as UNC piled up 399 yards and the ground and 656 yards of total offense. Throughout the game, Anderson also racked up seven knockdown blocks and three pins.

The Tar Heels are now 3-0 this season and have moved up to No. 5 in the AP Top 25, their highest ranking since 1997.
