Sunday night marked the deadline for underclassmen to put their names into the 2018 NBA Draft Process, with UNC announcing Monday that junior forward Luke Maye did, indeed, put his name in the running.

The Huntersville native will not hire an agent at this time, which means he remains eligible to return to college after receiving feedback from professional teams at workouts.

A First Team All-ACC and Third Team All-American performer this past season, Maye averaged 16.9 points and 10.1 rebounds per game for the Tar Heels–numbers that included three games of at least 30 points.

“This is a great opportunity for Luke,” UNC head coach Roy Williams said, in a statement released by the university. “This is what the system is designed to do, which is provide players with an opportunity to workout with NBA teams and get feedback from those teams. Our staff will support Luke and will do whatever we can to help him throughout this process.”
