Neither Kennedy Meeks nor Isaiah Hicks started against Syracuse Monday night. It was Senior Night.
But, there is a growing chorus of college basketball analysts who are calling for Hicks to start over Meeks moving forward. That chorus is led by former Duke guard and current ESPN analyst, Jay Williams. During halftime of Monday night’s game, Williams pushed for Hicks to start for the Tar Heels. He even held up a sign.

Hicks did start in place of Meeks at the start of the second half. I doubt that Jay Williams was the reason.
Kennedy Meeks is not happy. The junior went on Twitter Tuesday morning to express his frustration.
Let me tell you guys one thing!!! Whoever starts for our team it doesn’t matter!!! Whoever plats more doesn’t matter!!! Who ever scores the

Meeks deleted one other tweet. It read, “You reporters, analyst, broadcasters, and whoever else have no idea what goes on in OUR locker room and you NEVER will EVER!!”
Those are the tweets of a passionate 21-year-old student-athlete in response to a 34-year-old professional broadcaster.
It should be noted that while Meeks typically starts over Hicks, they play a similar amount of total minutes. In the past 10 games, Meeks has averaged about half a minute more playing time per game than Hicks.
