Home runs from Clemente Inclan, Will Stewart and Caleb Roberts on Saturday night at Boshamer Stadium powered the No. 18 UNC baseball team to a 5-4 victory over Clemson–clinching the weekend series for the Tar Heels.

Clemson (5-7, 1-4 ACC) scored first in the second inning, but the Tar Heels (9-4, 5-3 ACC) responded by hitting all three of their long balls in the fourth.

It began when Caleb Roberts led off the frame with a solo shot to tie the game. Then Brett Centracchio singled and Danny Serretti walked to set up Inclan’s three-run blast, which was the third homer he’s hit in the last three games and also the third of his career.

The batter after Inclan was Stewart, who matched Roberts’ solo homer to give UNC a commanding 5-1 lead.

Three bases-loaded walks by the Tar Heel pitching staff in the fifth inning allowed Clemson to close the gap, but UNC would hold strong the rest of the way to escape with the victory.

Joey Lancellotti was credited with the win on the mound after getting the Tar Heels out of the fifth-inning jam and pitching three scoreless innings.
