Three straight games. Three straight thrillers.

Senior outfielder Tyler Lynn legged out an RBI infield single in the bottom of the 10th inning on Sunday, which scored Ashton McGee and helped the fourth-ranked UNC baseball team walk off as winners against the No. 3 Clemson Tigers by a score of 3-2.

The victory completes a big-time weekend sweep for the Tar Heels (36-9, 18-6 ACC), who used late rallies to slip past the Tigers in each of the three games.

Clemson catcher Chris Williams hit a two-run homer off Jason Morgan in the top half of the first inning, but the dominant Tar Heel pitching staff once again proved its worth–shutting down the visitors entirely the rest of the way.

Lynn had three of UNC’s eight hits in the series finale, including all three RBIs.

His fourth-inning groundout allowed Brandon Riley to come home and score the team’s first run of the day, while his single in the sixth brought Riley home once again.

Pat Krall lasted eight innings on the mound for Clemson (34-11, 16-8 ACC), while UNC continued to use a wide variety of pitchers–four, to be exact–to get through its Sunday affairs.

Freshman closer Josh Hiatt earned his second career victory for the Tar Heels after tossing the final 2.2 innings without allowing a hit.
