UNC baseball will open Super Regional play against the Auburn Tigers at noon on Saturday in Chapel Hill.
The NCAA announced the Super Regional times on Tuesday morning after the field was set following the conclusion of some regionals on Monday afternoon.
UNC swept its regional play, knocking off UNC – Wilmington, Liberty and Tennessee to advance.
The Chapel Hill region was matched up with the play in Atlanta, where the highly ranked Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets were hosting. But the Tigers knocked off Georgia Tech to advance to the Super Regionals, and since UNC was seeded higher than Auburn in the NCAA Tournament those games will be in Chapel Hill.
UNC and Auburn will play Saturday at noon. The time for Sunday’s game has been set for 11:30 a.m. If a third game is necessary, it is scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday.
Three other ACC teams advanced to the NCAA Super Regionals: Louisville will host East Carolina University beginning on Friday; Duke travels to Vanderbilt on Friday; and Florida State opens Super Regional play at LSU on Saturday.
