ESPN published its WNBA Mock Draft on Wednesday in anticipation of next week’s event, with UNC seniors Stephanie Watts and Janelle Bailey each projected as second-round selections.
The mock draft has Watts as the No. 19 overall selection to the Indiana Fever and Bailey as the No. 23 pick by the Seattle Storm.
Watts returned to the Tar Heels this season after spending a year playing at USC and earning her master’s degree in entrepreneurship and innovation. The 5-foot-11 guard ranks second in UNC history with 275 career three-pointers and averages of 14.8 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game.
Bailey is a four-time All-ACC selection as a forward, and is one of just five players in Tar Heel history to record at least 1,700 career points and 1,000 career rebounds.
The WNBA Draft is scheduled to take place on April 15 and will be held virtually.
