UNC sophomore Emma Trenchard was named Wednesday as the ACC Women’s Lacrosse Defender of the Year, while Tar Heel head coach Jenny Levy was also recognized as the league’s Coach of the Year.
The awards were voted on by the league’s head coaches.
Trenchard was a First Team All-ACC selection who led the stout UNC defense all year long, picking up 22 ground balls and causing 16 turnovers for the season.
Levy–who ranks first in ACC history with 322 career wins across 24 seasons in Chapel Hill–won the Coach of the Year honor for the fourth time after leading the Tar Heels to their fourth consecutive ACC Championship.
