Despite 26 points and 11 rebounds from sophomore forward Janelle Bailey, the UNC women’s basketball team suffered its first loss of the season on Sunday afternoon on the road against the Colorado Buffaloes by a score of 86-74.
The Tar Heels (3-1) built a 10-point lead less than three minutes into the game, but Colorado (3-0) was able to rally back to build a 49-41 lead by halftime–a lead it would not relinquish the rest of the way.
Guard Shayla Bennett added 18 points for UNC, as the only Tar Heel besides Bailey to score in double figures.
