A pair of career-best performances from junior Austin Hitt and sophomore Ryan Gerard on Monday at the Old Town Collegiate in Winston-Salem have the UNC men’s golf team sitting in fourth place on the team leaderboards.
Hitt fired a 4-under-par 66, while Gerard finished the round with a 3-under-par 67.
As a team, the Tar Heels are currently 8-under-par.
Host Wake Forest leads the event at 23-under-par, with Louisville (-19) and Yale (-10) representing the rest of the teams in front of UNC entering Tuesday’s final round.
On the individual leaderboard, Hitt (-5) and Gerard (-4) sit in sixth place and eighth place, respectively.
