RALEIGH–The No. 17 North Carolina women’s basketball team defeated No. 10 North Carolina State Sunday afternoon 89-82 to improve to 20-6 on the season and 8-4 in ACC play.
With the loss, the Wolfpack dropped to 22-4 overall and 9-3 in conference action.

Allisha Gray was also a key player in the victory, scoring 15 of her 18 total points in the second half to hold off some inspired play from the Wolfpack who shot 46 percent from the floor in the second half.
But the Tar Heels were even better, shooting 59 percent after halftime and 55 percent overall in the game.
N.C. State senior Kody Burke led her team with 18 points Sunday.
