
The UNC men’s basketball team will play for its seventh NCAA title Monday night in New Orleans, taking on Kansas in the national championship game. If you aren’t down in the Big Easy for the game, here’s how to follow along from home:
Broadcast Schedule
Those hoping to listen to the game on the radio with Jones Angell on the call can do so at 97.9 FM and 1360 AM.
97.9 The Hill’s radio coverage of the game will begin with a special Championship Monday show at 6 p.m., followed by Countdown to Tip-Off with Brighton McConnell at 7:30 p.m.
At 8 p.m. the broadcast will shift down to New Orleans for Angell and the Tar Heel Sports Network’s hour-long pregame coverage. They will also carry postgame coverage for approximately an hour after the conclusion of the game.
Due to a broadcast rights agreement between the NCAA and Westwood One, there will be no radio stream of the men’s basketball game. The only way to listen to it on the Tar Heel Sports Network will be via your local radio affiliate.
TV Schedule
Television coverage of the championship game begins at 9 p.m., with a tip-off time of 9:20 p.m. The game will be broadcast on TBS. As of today, DirecTV, Xfinity, Dish and Spectrum all carry TBS.
What if I don’t have cable?
A live stream will be available through the NCAA March Madness website and the March Madness Live app.
YouTube TV prices at $65/month and carries TBS.
Hulu TV goes for $70/month and includes TBS, but does not carry MLB Network, NBA TV or NFL Red Zone.
Sling TV is the cheapest at $35/month. Be sure to avoid Sling Blue, as that package does not carry ESPN.
Watch Party
The Dean Smith Center will be hosting a watch party for the game Monday night. Entry A will open to students at 8 p.m. and for the general public at 8:15 p.m. Admission is free.
