After a memorable 2024 season which saw them reach the Men’s College World Series, the Diamond Heels are projected to be national contenders once again in 2025. Carolina is ranked No. 6 in the D1Baseball preseason poll, which was released on Monday morning.

Three of the five teams ranked ahead of Carolina also made the trip to Omaha last summer: No. 1 Texas A&M, No. 2 Virginia and No. 4 Tennessee (the defending national champions). No. 3 LSU, No. 5 Arkansas, No. 7 Oregon State, No. 8 Georgia, No. 9 Florida State and No. 10 Florida round out the Top 10.

Seven ACC teams are featured in the poll. Below the Cavaliers, Tar Heels and Seminoles are No. 11 Duke, No. 13 NC State, No. 14 Wake Forest and No. 15 Clemson. For a full look at the poll, click here.

Carolina will face four teams ranked in the poll, all in ACC play. The Blue Devils visit Boshamer Stadium for a three-game series from April 3-5, and Wake Forest visits from April 10-12. UNC hosts NC State from May 9-11 and closes out the season on the road at Florida State from May 15-17.

UNC’s season gets underway when the Diamond Heels host Texas Tech at Boshamer Stadium for Opening Day on February 14 at 4 p.m.
