After three football players were killed in a shooting at the University of Virginia, several UNC Athletics figures and accounts sent out messages of support on social media or during press conferences. Here are some of those messages:
“Sally and I have a daughter that’s a faculty member there,” Brown said Monday morning. “She texted us early this morning to tell us she was OK. But it’s really, really sad when you have to worry about your family members and your children everywhere we go. So we’ve gotta be smarter, and we’ve gotta figure this thing out.”
“What happened at the University of Virginia, it just made me very, very sad,” UNC men’s basketball head coach Hubert Davis said Monday. “I’m a father of three. My oldest son is in college. I just can’t imagine and I don’t want to imagine, as a parent, getting that type of phone call.”
