The International League-leading Durham Bulls, 18-9 on the season, finish out an eight-game homestand this weekend with three games in the newly-renovated Durham Bulls Athletic Park.
The action will get going Friday night as the Bulls host the Columbus Clippers, 11-13 on the season, for a 7:05 p.m. first pitch. After the game, there will be a fireworks display for fans to enjoy. In addition, the Diamond Cutters, the Bulls’ famous dancing grounds crew, will perform.
Saturday’s game will get underway at 5:05 p.m., but it’s Sunday’s event that has garnered national attention. To close out the homestand, the Bulls will put on a Star Wars Night at the DBAP at 5:05 p.m..
Fans will have the opportunity to take photos with their favorite Star Wars characters and be entertained with in-game features focusing on the “May the Fourth be with you” theme.

But it’s the highly-promoted R2-D2 jerseys that have made national sports news. The game-worn droid jerseys will be available in an auction during the event. All proceeds will benefit to Autism Society of North Carolina.
Folks can buy tickets at durhambulls.com or at the box office outside the ballpark in downtown Durham.
